RMP Prop Case Study
Background
RMP Prop is a London based private property company focused on development and investment opportunities within the UK. Covering both residential and commercial property sectors, RMP Prop holds a specialist knowledge of property acquisition, development, investment and sales.
The Brief
RMP Prop first approached Gates Scotland Ltd (GS) in Autumn 2020, with a requirement for a pedestrian access gate for a luxury property development in Brighton.
Security, absolute privacy and contemporary design were key to the brief; Further to this, planned installation of horizontal timber slats running the length of the exterior wall tops created an additional requirement for a gate design that would not only be sympathetic to the vision of the development but would work practically during installation on site. The gate was to be custom built to a specified opening size and delivered on site.
The Solution
Working with RMP Prop, the GS design team established a design and specification proposal for the custom gate build that would address the mandatory needs of the client.

The ‘McAdam’ style metal framed, Composite clad gate was chosen as the base design for the project; The clean, modern appearance of the McAdam gate was deemed to be the best fit for the desired aesthetic, both internally and externally at the property. Galvanic protection of the metal work and zero maintenance, durable composite cladding was highly important, due to the proximity of the property from the sea front.
To ensure security and accessibility, an electric strike was specified for the build. This allowed for the gate to be remotely unlocked from the property, but did not compromise the security, as the deadlock could still be used while the property was vacant.
A custom gate frame surround was designed and manufactured specifically for mounting the slatted timber above the gate, creating a seamless continuation of the Timber from the perimeter wall. Further to this, an integrated letterbox was also added for convenience.
“Better than any other experience with other firms, acted promptly and assisted throughout from design through to delivery and installation. We will certainly be using Gates Scotland again in the near future for any other projects that suit.“
